Magueyes Island, PR, April 27, 2018 -- The celebrations for NOAA-CREST Day continued on Friday, April 27 as students, faculty and staff at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez spent the day at the Marine Sciences Isla Magueyes Facilities. Activities included a Python Programming workshop in the morning, taught by Cohort II master's candidate, Carlos Iturrino. The afternoon sessions continued with a UPRM CREST research and management meeting, where students gave a brief update of their research, and we discussed needs and future activities.
The Magueyes Island Facilities are located at a field station established in 1954 in support of marine science research and education for the academic programs of the Institute of Marine Sciences, now Department of Marine Sciences of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez.
